Admission Process

The admission process at Cincinnati State is simple and hassle-free.

Admission Process

We want you to start your learning experience off on the right foot. That means, if you plan to earn a degree or certificate, you must apply and be admitted to the College first. If you only plan to take a course or two, you simply must complete a Non-Degree form.

Click on the statement below that best describes you and your situation.

You’ll be taken to more detailed admission information to help your admission to Cincinnati State go smoothly.

I am a first-time student. I have never attended Cincinnati State before, either to follow a degree program or to take a course or two.

I am a returning student. I have been admitted to or attended Cincinnati State in the past, but have not enrolled for five consecutive terms.

I am a transfer student. I have attended one or more colleges or universities, and I am interested in transferring to Cincinnati State.

I am an international student. I have not been granted the status of immigrant, permanent resident, or refugee by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and I wish to attend Cincinnati State.

I am a lifelong learning student. I want to go back to school, update my skills, pursue a new career, or more. I may want to pursue a degree, or just take a course or two.

Apply early.

Both degree-seeking and non-degree seeking students should complete the online application for admission and begin the admission process as early as possible. Applying at least six to eight weeks in advance of the term for which you wish to enroll is recommended. In most cases, this will allow enough time for receipt of transcripts, completion and processing of financial aid forms, and meeting with your academic advisor.

Please note that admission is based on the policy “first-come, first-qualified, first-served.” Applicants are notified by mail regarding acceptance and given further direction regarding academic advising.
